We have a requirement to copy whole data from active
plan version to a new plan version in production system.
We can create a new empty plan version and then copy data from active plan version using RHCOPL00. Are there any side effects of this activity? Is it suggested to do this activity of copying whole data in Production system? Advice: In a case that you want a copy a huge structures you can use the report RHCOPYSTRUCT or RHCOPL00. These reports can be used in production system. From SE38 documentation : This report copies objects from one plan version to another. Please note that you can only use this report to copy objects to areas of one plan version that do not overlap with areas of another. This means that you must: - Copy to an empty plan version, or - Copy disjunct areas only (that is, areas that do not overlap and that may be deleted from the target plan version before copying commences). The report is NOT suitable for combining or reconciling plan versions. If you want to copy and reconcile, please use report RHCOPLPT as of Release 3.1H. You can also avoid problems caused by number range overlaps by using one range of numbers across all plan versions (see also the IMG activity Set Up Number Assignment for All Plan Versions in the Basic Settings section of Organizational Management, or the NUMRG COMP switch in table T77S0). About the functionality, for e.g. if you do not maintain any evaluation path in your selection screen, relationship A008 will be copied because P is an external object (not related in HRP1000). So the object exists 'independently' of a plan variant. This is not the case for internal objects (like O). This objects are always related to a plan variant. If you want to copy also A003-relationships you have to make sure (via the evaluation path in RHCOPL00) that also corresponding objects (O) are copied too. The same applies for internal objects S, C. So if you want to create the related internal objects such as such O, C, S, when you only select object P you need to maintain an evaluation path. Please test it first in your development system and then in your production system. |
