BOM Archiving Object CS_BOM In CS28

What are the benefits and negative impact of BOM archiving?

You can use the archiving program to archive data that you no longer required. The data is written to archive files. If this transaction is successful, you can delete the data from the system.

Negative impact :- You cannot reload archived BOM data to the R/3 System.

Choose Logistics -> Production -> Master data -> Bills of material -> Extras -> Archiving

BOM Archiving Object CS_BOM In CS28

For BOMs, archive object CS_BOM is defined.

You can set a deletion flag for BOMs that you no longer require on the Header Data screen.

After the archiving run, you can delete the archived BOMs.

BOMs are archived by the archiving object CS_BOM and deleted. The BOMs can be identified by the following data:

- BOM category (for example, material BOM)
- Use (for example, production)
- Plant (such as 0001)
- BOM number
- Alternative BOM
