In PM task list, in the inspection characteristics overview
screen, if there is Master Inspection Characteristics & Method entered,
the sampling procedure drop down list varies. How this filtration is done
(what combination of settings-config does this filtration)?
Answer: Sampling procedure drop down list for any MIC depends on three things: 1. Control indicator of MIC 2. Inspection point in header of Task list 3. Valuation mode of Sampling procedure E.g. if the MIC is QN and has the Limits indicator (LSL/UPL) then you can use valuation mode "Mean valuation", if the MIC is QL and has the Catalogue indicator then you can use "valuation acc. to characteristics attribute". Valuation Mode "Manual" can be used for both QL & QN characteristics for all of the scenarios either with limits & w/o limits. If your task list header contains the Inspection points then you have to mark the respective inspection point indicator in sampling procedure otherwise you can't find the sampling procedure. For PM Task list "Plant maintenance" indicator is used
because in header of the task list "inspection point for equipment" have
to be defined.
What is the use of sampling procedure? Answer: A sampling procedure defines the rules that specify how the system calculates the sample size and it contains information about the valuation of an inspection characteristic during results recording (attributive, variable, manual, etc.). We can use sampling procedure at MIC level of task list
or material specification. or we can define it at inspection type level
in material master.
Is it mandatory to use sampling procedure? Answer: No, it is not mandatory. If you select checkbox at control indicator of MIC - "sampling procedure" - then it must be assigned at MIC level in task list. |
