Just like Inventory Management Movement Types,
Warehouse Management has also some movement types which controls process
flow in the warehouse. In fact, WM movement type decides which Interim
storage area need to be used for a particular material movement.
At the same time WM Movement type has various other control functions like
Manual / Automatic TO, Print code, GR Data to be updated in quant or not,
information regarding TO confirmation, Return storage type search for material
returns and control indicators for Storage type search.
Configuration IMG Path IMG -> Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Activities -> Transfer -> Define Movement Types Transaction Code: SPRO/SM30 Table / View: T333 / V_T333 Steps: 1. Before you start to create movement types for a new warehouse number,
3. Define your own company-individual settings (for example, for the interim storage types) in the detail screen. Double click the item line for the details setup.
WM FIFO question Our company is planning to use FIFO for our storage units. I know FIFO works on GR date from LQUA table Let’s say, I did a receipt of SU into my semi-finished goods WM location on 7/10/2013 Before we use it we might move this pallet in the plant between different locations. So its GR date changes (7/13/2013) Now when I finally want to use this pallet and SAP looks for FIFO strategy, it will not pick this pallet because the GR date has changed but my actual GR date from production is 7/10/2013 and I want system to consider that date when doing the FIFO logic. How can I achieve that? Answer: In the customizing of the WM movement type, there is a flag for GR data in quant. If this flag is set, the GR date will be reset when the data is moved to a new quant. If it's blank, the quant should retain the original GR date. Please check if you have this flag set for your movement type at the following customizing path: IMG -> Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management -> Activities -> Transfers -> Define movement types |
